I am a hardworking, driven student athlete at a large public high school in Newtown, Connecticut. Although my chapter as a young adult is just beginning, I have high hopes of achieving many things. On the field, especially when I am on the mound, I always try and give 110%; at school, I do my best to stay on top of my work and never procrastinate; and if a family member or friend is having a rough time I will always go out of my way to uplift their spirits.
I have been blessed to be part of a family that always sees my potential and pushes me everyday. My father has taught me to never shy away from an issue or obstacle; and, my mother has shown me how much I can learn from the imperfections or trials we regularly face in life. I try to never forget and acknowledge that I am lucky to have this type of support behind me.
My biggest goal in life is to be happy and to walk away from everything knowing that I tried my best. If I am able to be content with myself in all the things that I do then in my mind's eye, I will succeed as a person. I am excited to begin my college career and study biomedical or environmental sciences. As a college athlete I am eager to be pushed and challenged by the next level of competition.
All of the things that I have done in life up to this point have been for a reason: either to make me a better person or to prepare me for the obstacles that I will face in the future. As my dad always says, "life is like a chess game and if you don't think ahead, you will undoubtedly be left behind."
